It’s Fall y’all! Well, almost. But seriously, it’s September. We’ve been so busy finalizing all of the details for this fall line that we’ve neglected these little blog posts! But, we are back and halfway through our Fall Launch week! Have you enjoyed hearing from Taylor and Sandy? Hopefully it has given you some good inspiration on pairing our fabrics in new and unique ways, not to mention getting to know the other ladies behind NSH.
I am the “coastal” one of the bunch. I’ve lived on the coast (both east coast and west coast) and the influence of the beach is hard to avoid when you are so close! It sort of takes over wether you like it or not (a’hem… sand anyone?!) I definitely came to embrace it, and although I’m not into seashell wall paper and conch shell artwork (at one point I’m sure I thought that was cool) I do love some white walls, texture, with a splash of bright color (think Serena and Lily… insert heart eye emojis here). SO, here is what I came up with for a dream design using our New South Home Products.
My biggest desire for that “someday” home is LOTS of millwork and trim detail! I love a good coffered ceiling, board and batten, wainscoting, thick trim, it takes a home to a whole new level! So I started with a judges paneling backdrop in Benjamin Moore Simply White, added some of our new Chloe Navy custom drapery panels which has a stippled painted look to soften the room. The Flower Power Indigo pillows are a larger print and added a lot to a neutral white sofa (Restoration Hardware). Then to accent the flower power, and add texture, the Velvet Shimmer Navy pillows were added. With a few additions of furniture, rug and accessories, this take on a slightly coastal space is pretty dreamy!
Swapping out the rug for a navy vintage find would be gorgeous, and trading those pillows for a long lumbar in a bright bold color would completely change the look of this space, but still work beautifully. Classic neutral furniture is always the way to go, textiles are where you can have your fun with color and pattern! It’s a safe equation for designing on your own!
