It’s officially here – REVEAL DAY – and we have two happy girls in the Lee Household! Mommy is ecstatic that this One Room Challenge is checked off the “To Do” list and Sienna is a happy camper with her new glamorous Big Girl room!! It’s been a whirlwind 5 weeks getting this pulled together and we both couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out!
If you need a quick reminder on where we started, here is the Gender Neutral Nursery we started with BEFORE:
To Glam Big Girl Room AFTER!
It was a challenge to create a “photo worthy” girl room for a 3 year-old that still functions for a 3 year-old, but I think kept a good balance of PRETTY with “wait, oh yeah, this is still a room intended for a child“. The bunny she sleeps with every night (cleverly named “Bunny”) is featured on her bed and her favorite Elsa doll and Olaf are within reach in a toy basket. She’s obsessed with “Frozen” like any little girl these days, so her Frozen Jewelry Box is in a prominent position on the dresser. The white basket on the dresser is an old diaper changing basket from Pottery Barn Kids where I removed the green and white checked liner – I still have her brush, hair bobs, lotions, etc, in there at my reach for evening bedtime routines. The other big win is that all of the decorative pillows are REMOVABLE with zipper covers, so if anything happens, they can be taken off and dry cleaned.
The Linen Shimmer Silver Drapery Panels are blackout and Sienna has been sleeping so much better (Momspeak = LATER) in the mornings since those have been hung! The original wood blinds weren’t completely blocking out the Spring/Summer morning light and when those drapes are pulled closed, it is downright DARK in there! It’s hard to see in the pictures, but the drapery panels and the gold pillows on her bed have the slightest hint of metallic thread woven through that catches the light to add a little sparkle.
Can we also talk about that silver monogram over the bed? I was so worried that hanging it with the wallpaper was going to be TOO much, but keeping it simple with a metallic silver spray paint seemed to do the trick. I am in love with all of the wood monograms that Courtney offers at The Southern Nest – her quality is great and never disappoints!
I don’t remember if I mentioned this in previous posts, but I personally am a little obsessed with bows. What better place to add one than on a PILLOW in a girl’s room in our Blush Velvet Shimmer fabric? The fact that I can draw a picture of my vision, show it to Erin, the miracle worker behind our custom pillows and table runners, and she whips it up with ease, makes me one spoiled lady. The good news is is that if you are loving that bow pillow as much as I am, we officially added it to our website! You can purchase it, along with the other New South Home products featured in this room, in Sienna’s Room collection HERE!
I hope that y’all like it as much as we both do! Here’s a full source list where I found everything for the room:
